Corporate History

Tutco Scientific was incorporated  January 1, 1988 to offer testing services to manufacturers and users of  thermal insulation materials.  The laboratory facility is in operation  for corrosion under insulation (CUI) testing and other tests related to  thermal insulation. Tutco is accredited to the ISO/IEC 17025:2017

Corrosion Testing

 Our clients include companies from  all over the world, the United States and various government agencies.  Our years of working with these various clients on; research &  development, formulation, manufacturing, testing, process control,  marketing, specification development, and test method development for  thermal insulation materials assures a thorough knowledge of the  insulation field. It is the policy of Tutco to deliver test reports to  its customers at competitive prices and on the date agreed upon. Our  reports meet the requirements of the test method(s) involved and any  special customer requirements as mutually agreed upon.  

 

Tutco tests for compliance to a  variety of specifications including NRC 1.36, ASTM C795, and various US  Military specifications (US Clients only) concerning insulation and  corrosion.

Tutco  mainly performs ASTM C692, ASTM C871, and ASTM C1617 testing. We also  do physical property testing and other corrosion under insulation (CUI)  testing as requested. We are also able to adapt existing tests or design  and develop new tests for our clients.

Qualification and Experience of Key Personnel

  
Tutco has over 50 years of  combined experience and active involvement in stress-corrosion cracking  and the industrial insulation and corrosion industries. Tutco personnel  serve on various ASTM C-16 sub-committees and task groups and attends  all C-16 related meetings.  Personnel have served as the chairperson of  C16.31 sub-committee on chemical and physical properties.  This is the  subcommittee that includes the task groups involved in corrosion and  insulation issues.  Personnel have been in the past, and are currently  serving as the individual task group chairpersons of the corrosion  related task groups (ASTM C795, C692, C871, C1617).  Personnel attend  task group meetings on test methods that Tutco conducts and actively  participate in the balloting process. This assures we are current with  procedures, developments and concerns in the industry. 

Quality Control System

 Tutco is an accredited ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Laboratory by Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation. (Our certificate) Our quality control system is also in compliance to MIL-I-45208 and NN-801.

Tutco  also undergoes periodic on-site audits and inspections conducted by  various US clients and US Government agencies (DCMA/GSA). These  independent outside audits assures that Tutco has the facilities and  knowledge to provide outstanding service. Tutco follows and uses only  accepted procedures mandated by the various testing methods and  reporting requirements.
